Lee County Sheriff’s Office Concerning Barnette, Mullins and Seiber

In a recent press release from Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons, it was reported than on May 1st, 2020 Sgt. Chad Rouse was on patrol in the Pennington Gap area when he located a vehicle which was displaying the wrong tags. A traffic stop was conducted and the occupants of the vehicle were acting suspicious and did not want to provide their identity.
Sergeant Rouse contacted Sergeant Mason Cook and K9 partner Lolek and he immediately alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search was then conducted and officers located Methamphetamine, digital scales, three handguns, an AR15 rifle and a large quantity of ammunition. Deputies also seized $1,164 during the search.
Mr. Jimmy Wayne Barnette age 27 of Preston Road in Big Stone Gap, Va was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic.
Mr. Steve Mullins age 32 of Carnagie Lane in Big Stone Gap, Va was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Conspiracy to Distribute a Schedule II Narcotic.
Ms. Shealon Seiber of Preston Road in Big Stone Gap was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
Sgt. Rouse was assisted by Lt. Todd Jones, Sgt. Mason Cook and K9 partner Lolek, Deputy Tim Deel and the investigators of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Parsons commended everyone involved on another job well done.
