The Virginia Department of Education released results from the Standards of Learning tests on Tuesday.
The numbers show a one-point improvement for English Reading, Math, and Science compared to the previous school year. The results for English Writing and History/Social Science were the same as the previous school year.
Lee County had the lowest writing pass rate for white students of any school division at 61 percent.
The percentage of students achieving at the proficient or advanced level on Standards of Learning assessments in reading, mathematics and science increased by one-point statewide during 2015-2016.
