The Lee County Board of Supervisors voted in their meeting on tuesday to repoen the courthouse to the public. The courthouse will reopen to the public on Monday, April the 27th.
Additionally, The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia has extended the length of a “judicial emergency” declared in response to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Commonwealth, and is delaying many types of court cases as a result.
The extension, issued Friday, will extend the judicial emergency until May the 17th. It was initially scheduled to run until April 6.
The declaration is issued for all district and circuit courts in Virginia.
