LCSO seizes drugs, cash in search warrant that leads to arrest

A search warrant served by the Lee County Sheriff's Office on Monday evening has led to the seizing of illegal drugs and cash.

Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons reports that at 8:52 p.m. on Monday evening, Officers of the Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at 907 Tanbark Ridge Road in Jonesville. According to Parsons, the residence was that of 39 year old Jeremy Rick Sturgill.

Parsons said that once in the residence, officers discovered a large amount of narcotic pills along with 32 grams of crystal methamphetamine and $500.00 cash. The crystal meth would have had an estimated street value of $3200.00.

Parsons said that Sturgill was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II narcotic, and possession with intent to distribute a schedule IV narcotic. He is being held in the Duffield Regional Jail without bond.

Parsons went on to say the investigation that resulted in this search warrant has been ongoing for 4 months. The investigation continues and future charges are possible against other defendants.
