KY Man Arrested After Wise County Breaking and Entering

On 12-16-2015, during the early morning hours, Wise County Central Dispatch received a call of a breaking & entering and assault that had occurred at 109 Raccoon Road, Ponderosa Trailor Park, in Big Stone Gap, VA. Upon arrival Deputy Michael Storie observed a male subject matching the description of the suspect. He was identified as Marquelle Rachaun Gist, age 39, of 455 First Street Lynch, Ky. As Deputy Storie approached Mr. Gist for questioning, he fled on foot. Mr. Gist allegedly went into another home located in the trailor park and refused to allow the two occupants to leave or call 911. He left this residence a few minutes later and the occupants called 911. Deputies then located Mr. Gist hiding inside another trailor, and took him into custody without further incident.

Marquelle Gist was charged with two counts of assault & batter, two counts of breaking & entering in the nighttime, two counts of abduction, and petit larceny. He is currently being held at Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield, VA with no bond.
