Kingsport Police Intevestigate Rash of Lawnmower Burglaries

Police are investigating multiple Kingsport outbuilding burglaries in which several lawn mowers have been reported stolen.

Kingsport detectives say a Honda mower was taken from an outbuilding at 1502 West Sullivan Street, while two Craftsman mowers were stolen at 1322 Putnam Street. And at 514 Riverside Ave. a witness allegedly observed a man pushing a mower down an alley.

Police say that in the Riverside Avenue theft the suspect is believed to have been driving a dark colored, older model Ford truck. If residents observe a vehicle in their area matching the description and acting suspicious, they are asked to obtain a license plate number.

Police ask the public not to intervene or make contact with the suspect, but provide information they gather to central dispatch, (423) 246-9111. Anyone with information on the burglaries is also asked to contact KPD Criminal Investigations at (423) 229-9429.
