K9 Lolek’s Deputy Mason Cook

Last week we reported the news of Lee County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Mason Cook, who was attacked by the Department’s K9 Officer Lolek while he was attempting to halter the dog and put him in the kennel.
Earlier that same day, the duo had successfully completed a seizure according to Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons. Parsons went on to add that Deputy Cook had suffered serious injuries to his arm, resulting in him being air lifted to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.
Animal Control was contacted, and due to Lolek’s continued aggressive behavior, the decision was made to put him down.
