Jonesville Man Sentenced for Child Pornography

Commonwealth’s Attorney Stacy Estep Munsey has reported that Lewis Daniel Nimety of Jonesville has been sentenced to 520 years in prison for child pornography possession.
On Nov. 26, 2013, Virginia State Police searched Nimety’s home and found thousands of images of child pornography on his home computer. Nimety was charged with 104 counts of possession of child pornography.

A jury found Nimety guilty of all charges in January suggesting the maximum penalty of five years in prison for each count. Prosecutors agreed during a hearing on Tuesday, and asked Judge Tammy S. McElyea to sentence Nimety to the maximum penalty due to the severity of his crime. McElyea accepted their suggestions Tuesday, sentencing Nimety to 520 years in prison.
