The town of Jonesville discussed the inspection by the Health Department at the Water Plant for the spring and the inspection went well.
For new business:
A proposed budget for the 2015-2016 year was presented and the council announced that there will be a public hearing on June 1 at 6:30 pm for the proposed budget from the town citizens. The effects of the budget will go into place in July.
The council also approved on a security system. There were two bids for the town ADT and Wells Communications of Norton, VA. Wells Communication was the lowest bid and the town approved Wells Communication
The Town Hall and Police Department will have motion detectors, sirens, smoke detectors. Total cost for the system is $1,142.20 with a monitoring charge of $240.00 per year.
Also the Parks & Rec committee along with Ashley Seals, Director of Tourism will be applying for a grant of $1,500 for LOVE letters. The word LOVE will be builts and displayed within Cumberland Bowl Park. This is a tourism attraction and will be unique to Lee County and JOnesville
