Firefighters were called out to Wheaton Hollow at 5 yesterday evening, where they enountered a suspicious forest fire. They determined a person of interest and later that night, 21-year-old Johnny Mullins was arrested and charged with second-degree arson.
According to Jenkins Police, Mullins gave a statement accepting responsibility for the fire and offering an apology to the community.
Police say there is no indication at this time that any other fires are connected to Mullins.
Mullins was booked in the Letcher County Jail.
