James Miller Sentenced to 7 Years for Fraud

James Miller, age 51 of Coeburn Virginia has been convicted of accepting money for building projects that he did not complete, resulting in a sentence of five years in prison. Miller claims to having had the intention of completing the projects but was overwhelmed. Miller faces additional charges in Lee County. Chuck Slemp, Wise County Virginia’s Commonwealth Attorney stated that Miller was an unlicensed builder and allegedly committed fraud over a ten year span. Between all the counties involved Miller will be required to serve seven years in prison.
