Now is the time to get your paperwork in order, if you want to run for a county seat in the General Elections in November. Independent candidates need 125 qualified signatures on a petition to get their name on the ballot. The open races include Board of Supervisors, School Board, Sheriff, Treasurer, Commonwealth Attorney, Commissioner of Revenue and Soil and Water Board. The deadline to file is in August.
