Workforce Board and IDA Hold Job Fair Success Seminar
The Industrial Development Authority of Lee County (IDA) announced today that 7 job seekers successfully completed the Job Fair Success Workshop conducted by the Southwest Virginia Workforce Development Board. The workshop was held on Monday afternoon (April 4th) in the Pennington Gap Community Center.
“We are pleased that the Workforce Development Board was able to offer this workshop here today. These folks will have a competitive edge at the job fair next week,” stated Michael James, IDA Director.
“The Workforce Development Board offers these seminars all over the region in advance of large job fairs. We want to assist any interested job seeker with improving their employment prospects. This is the fifth seminar we have conducted in the last two weeks,” state Rachel Patton, Business Service Coordinator with the Workforce Development Board.
“We want to thank the Town of Pennington Gap, particularly Lee Theatre Manager Tony Lawson and Town Manager Keith Harless for their assistance. We could not offer this event without them. Most of all I want to thank and congratulate the folks who took the initiative to attend today’s event and prepare themselves for success in their career search, both at next week’s job fair and beyond,” added James.
