Hunters For The Hungry 2017-2018 Stats

Appalachian Community Action thanks everyone that donated to the Hunters For the Hungry Program the past Deer Season. They received over six hundred pounds of deer that was turned into venison burgers and distributed to Lee County residents in need. The resulting burgers equaled approximately 2,440 servings of nutritious venison that was distributed free of charge this past season. Special thanks to Larry at Boone Trail Meats for being the processing partner in this endeavor.
Hunger in America and in our region continues to be a real concern for a substantial part of our nation’s population so APPCAA hopes to continue seeing an increase in the donation and distribution of venison in our region as they hope the program and others like it grow.
Anyone with questions about the program are encouraged to contact APPCAA, Liberty Sport & Pawn or Boone Trail Meats.
