How Can 17 yr olds Vote in Virginian Elections

Virginia law allows 17 year olds to register to vote, as long as they will be 18 yrs old on or before the next general election. They also are eligible to vote in any upcoming primary elections.
All this week, students, teachers and administrators are encouraged to hold voter registration drives at their respective schools. According to the State Education Secretary this voter registration drive allows an opportunity to prepare students to be engaged in the process and become thoughtful citizens.
The deadline to register to vote in the primary elections on June 12th is May 21st. Additional information is available on the Department of Election's website that will help students and teachers in their voter registration efforts, here's a convenient link to their website
