High Speed Chase in Harlan and Lee County

A high speed chase that began in Harlan and ended in Lee County resulted in two arrests last Wednesday. Sheriff Gary Parsons says the driver of a Budget rental truck threw something at a Harlan city police officer before driving away. The driver, Cindy Cartwhright, and her passenger, Christopher Bach, crossed the state line where the Lee County Sheriff’s office took over.
Officers followed Cartwright across more than 40 miles reaching speeds up to 80 mph before spike strips stopped the truck in Duffield.
Cartwright is wanted in Texas and Indiana and now faces an attempted murder charge. Drugs were also found in the truck.
