High speed chase

A high speed chase occured in Scott County on Friday, December 19.  The chase caused a deputy to crash his cruiser when acid was thrown from the suspects' vehicle.

Scott County Sheriff's Office received information about two people in possession of chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Deputies spotted the suspects and attemped to stop the vehicle for a registration violations.

The chase occured from  natural Tunnel State Parkway onto Mabe Stanleytown Road in Duffield.

The driver and passenger was Eric Stanley and Trevor Addington, reportedly threw chemicals associated with the manufacture of meth out the windows.

The chemicals thrown was one gallon jug of Muriatic acid and caused a cloud of gas along the highway.

The Southwest Virginia Drug Task Force and the Duffield Fire Department responded to clean up the spill.

Stanley, the driver of the vehicle, was later located and arrested for felony eluding and possession of precursors. He was released on $5,000 bond.

Addington, the passenger, was arrested on possession of precursors and held on $5,000 bond.
