High achievers

There are several schools in Southwest Virginia that has been named high achievers by the state Board of Education.

The following school include.

St. Charles Elementary in Lee County.

Yuma Elementary in Scott County.

Greendale Elementary and High Pint Elementary in Washington County.

Coeburn Primary, Powell Valley Primary, St.Paul Elementary, and Wise Primary in Wise County.

All schools have met all state and federal standards for two years, and have SOL pass rates in reading and math at 60 percent or higher.
