The Annual Jonesville Camp Meeting will begin this weekend. Reverend Hugh Kilgore will be the speaker for this historic event that is to start on Sunday and run through Wednesday each night at 7pm.
This will be the 210th Camp meeting that started way back in 1810 and has seen services during both World Wars and the Civil War. Last year was the first time this event had to be cancelled due to the Covid 19 pandemic even though this event was held during the Spanish Flu outbreak. Music will be provided by Jonesville First United Methodist Church on Sunday, AcChordance on Monday, Tuesday will Joyce and Rick Williams in Ingles Chapel United Methodist Church and Olivia Baker on Wednesday. Everyone is invited to attend.
War with Grandpa, staring Robert DeNiro, will show tomorrow at Lee Theatre starting at 7p.m. This movie is part comedy and part drama that tells the story of a grandson who has to share the room he loves with his grandfather and decides to declare war in an attempt to get it back. Tickets are only $5.00 at the door.
And Blackwater School will hold its Back to School Bash Tomorrow. The school will be converted to a shopping center for school supplies, toiletries, new and gently used clothing and even free haircuts. All items are free and everyone is welcome with the event open to all schools and grade levels. God’s Glory Mission and Blackwater CARES is sponsoring the event.
