Two fugitives wanted for assault on a police officer and accessory were caught Wednesday evening, after more than a week on the run.
The Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office said Joseph Matthew Hess and Delana Elizabeth Neal were taken into custody without incident at a motel in White Pine, Jefferson County, Tennessee. Hess was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Abingdon on November 10th when Officers discovered he was wanted in Lee County for “an outstanding warrant for violations of the terms and conditions of his federal supervised release.” When they tried to take Hess into custody, he “resisted the officers’ efforts to subdue him” and got away.
Neal was his passenger. Both are being held at the Jefferson County Jail.
