A former pastor of a Gate City church and Sullivan County Animal Shelter supervisor is due in Sullivan County Circuit Court today. 46 year old Phillip Lane of Kingsport is seeking pretrial diversion on three counts each of sexual contact with Sullivan County jail inmates and official misconduct. Female inmates who were under court order to work at the animal shelter allege that he used his authority to coerce them into having sex with him, in the summer of 2009. Lane, who was a pastor of Roadside Baptist Mission Church, has been free on 20-thousand dollars bond.
