Forest Farming Workshop at Lee Extension Deadline Today

There will be a Forest Farming Workshop at Lee Extension on Thursday evening, May 30th, 2019 at7:30 pm. The Lee County Extension Diversity Series is offering this Forest Farming Workshop at the Extension Office located at 486 Industrial Drive in Pennington Gap. Coordination is being done by Appalachia Sustainable Development and the Virginia Cooperative Extension.
The Appalachia Harvest Herb Hub plans to highlight forest farming and income opportunities in forest understory. Participants will learn about services, funding and premium markets available to help with start up.
While there is no cost for the Forest Farming Workshop, registration is required by the deadline of May 29th. Light refreshments will be served, featuring various forest botanicals. Black Cohosh seeds will also be distributed.
