Feeding America Southwest Virginia Receives Grant from Darden Foundation

The Virginia based Feeding America Southwest Virginia has just received a seven thousand dollar grant from the Darden Foundation. This much needed funding will go towards the support of the organization’s food distribution program. These funds will help to support a number of projects including children’s feeding programs, fresh produce deliveries and mobile food pantries. For additional information visit our website wswv.net for a handy link to their website www.faswva.org.
The Darden Foundation, the charitable arm of Darden Restaurants Inc.  currently supports more than 850 nonprofits throughout our country with its restaurant community grants programs. Their grants program is designed to strengthen local connections via continued investment in the communities where Darden employees live and work.
Darden’s Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Long Horn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, Season 52, Capital Grille and Eddie V’s brands participate in the program. With more than two thousand restaurants in North America, employees at each restaurant are given the opportunity to identify specific needs that address local issues for support.
