FCC’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund

In today’s local news, high speed broadband support could soon be available in Virginia. According to the Federal Communications Commission, it could happen sooner than you think and would be under the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund. The FCC is listing 217,000 rural homes and businesses eligible in Virginia, and another 182,000 currently eligible in Tennessee.
The Federal Communication Commission is expected to vote on the RDO Fund this month on the 30th. If approved, it would lead to a nationwide auction to take place sometime this year.
