Fatal Shooting in Pennington Gap

According to the latest Virginia State Police Press Release, Investigators are still looking into the fatal shooting incident that occurred at a home in Lee County, Virginia just off Highway 21. The Press Release included information provided by Virginia State Police Spokeswoman, Corinne Geller, who related the information that Kevin Corbin, age 47, went to his in-laws home to speak with his wife which led to an altercation.
This domestic altercation led to the arrival of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies to the homestead on Highway 421 last Wednesday where it appeared that Corbin had “forced his way into his in-laws’ home” where he then began “violently dragging his wife out the front door.”
The Press Release went on to state that the father of Corbin then “shot at” Corbin. Rescue Personnel were summoned to the scene, but Corbin ultimately perished as a result of injuries he sustained in the fatal shooting.
At this time, the investigation is continuing and whether or not any charges are filed in regards to this incident, will be left to the discretion of the Lee County Commonwealth Attorney H. Fuller Cridlin.
