Fatal Crash in Lee County Claims 2 Lives

According to the Virginia State Police a head on crash that occurred in Lee County, Virginia resulted in multiple deaths. Occurring on Route 58 in Lee County, a 2006 Pontiac G6 pulled out of a gas station and proceeded west in the eastbound lanes with the G6 narrowly avoiding collision with two other vehicles before hittig a 2018 Kia Optima head on.
Amy N. Hubbard age 32 of Middlesboro, Kentucky was pronounced dead at the scene while Kimberly A. Bingham age 34 of Harrogate, Tennessee also succumbed at the scene. Bingham's eight year old daughter was flown by State Police MedFlight to UT Medical Center in Knoxville for the treatment of her serious injuries.
Because of the accident, Sheriff Gary Parsons had cautioned extra care as Highway 58 had been reduced to one lane of traffic at the crash site. At this time the Virginia State Police are still investigating the crash.
Additionally during times of road or traffic emergencies, Highway Patrolmen recommend that if your vehicle is operable to get out of the path of traffic, the best place is behind a guard rail or divider etc. If you car has GPS activate it before calling 911 or a roadside service. Remember to turn on your hazards on and if necessary to remain in your vehicle with your seatbelt on until help arrives.
