fake raffle tickets

A woman from Harlan was arrested for alleged scam with fake raffle tickets.

Heather Yount, 30, was going door to door in the Fairview community posing as an employee of KCEOC as well as Sunshine Pre-school. She was selling raffle tickets that she said would enter the recipients in a drawing in which they could win an iPad.

KCEOC confirmed that Yount was not an employee and the organization did not do any sort of fundraising activity at this time.

Yount was charged with theft by deception under $500 and served a failure to appear warrant. She was being held in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond secured by 10 percent.
