Expanding Business To Bring 24 Jobs To Norton

A Norton fabrications, welding, metalworks and machine shop business will expand operations in a renovated facility, creating 24 new jobs.
NorrisBuilt Fabrications LLC will invest $1.5 million to expand its welding and fabrications operation in Norton, assisted by an $825,000 Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority (VCEDA) loan to the Wise County Industrial Development Authority to renovate a long vacant structure in Norton for the business.

The family owned company recently acquired the MDJ Machine Shop, expanding its service offerings and customer base, and was described during formal announcement ceremonies in the offices of the Wise County Administrator on Wednesday as an up-from-the-bootstraps business sinking deeper roots into Norton and Wise County.
Ron Norris and his wife, Tiffany, are co-owners of the business.
NorrisBuilt currently employs 19. After expansion into the new location, Norris plans to add another 24 employees. Wise County IDA Executive Director Carl Snodgrass said the building to be renovated is the former Kennedy’s Piggly Wiggly Warehouse off Kentucky Avenue.
