Fire claimed a 50 year old house in Ewing, this week. The Thomas Walker Volunteer Fire Department was called to Frog Level Road, about two miles off Highway 58, at 9 a-m Wednesday. Firefighters report decorations on a live Christmas tree likely caught fire and caused extensive damage to three rooms of the house, with smoke damage throughout. Later Wednesday, crews were called back to the house, when neighbors noticed smoke about 5 p-m. No one was home at the time, but the building was fully engulfed in flames, after the fire rekindled.
