Dominion Virginia Power is raising rates. The State Corporation Commission says the increase is necessary to recover Dominion’s costs from the construction of a coal fired power plant in Wise County and a natural gas fired generator in Buckingham County. Starting this month, the typical residential customer will pay about one dollar and six cents more per month.
