The Lee County Board of Supervisors approved payment of county bills Thursday in excess of $130,000. This cost covered a broad range of expenditures, including repair and maintenance to the Thomas Walker Pool and local tourism advertising.
The Daniel Boone Soil and Water Conservation District along with the Lee County Extension Office will hold a pasture walk on Thursday May 28th at the Whitt Farm in Flatwoods. The walk will include demonstrations and information on weed control in pastures, as well as project developments. Refreshments will also be provided. The Lee County Extension Office will also host a youth farm tour of farms in Lee County on June 12th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tour is open to all youths 9 to 18 years of age. Cost is $25 per youth and includes transportation, snacks, and lunch. Space is limited so registration is required by June 5th. To register, contact the Lee County Extension Office at 276-346-1522.
