Commonwealth Schools in Southwest Va Earn 2018 Awards

Over 300 schools in the Commonwealth of Virgina earned 2018 Index of Performance awards for advanced learning and meeting federal education guidelines/benchmarks. Sixteen of those honored were from Southwest Virginia according to the latest report from the Board of Education out of Richmond.
Those Counties earning the second highest honor in the VIP Program were:
Belfast Elk Garden Elementary out of Russell County
Weber City Elementary out of Scott County
High Point and Watauga Elementary out of Washington County
Wise Central High and East Side High out of Wise County
Those earning award for meeting State and Federal guidelines, the Distinguished Achievement Award were:
Ervinton Elementary out of Dickenson County
Honaker Elementary, Lebanon Elementary and Lebanon Primary all out of Russell County
Yuma Elementary out of Scott County
L.F. Addington Middle, St. Paul Elementary, Union High and Union Primary out of Wise County.
