Chain Free Zones for Dogs

Locally in the news is a little tidbit concerning our furry family members. By the year 2021, chaining your dog up outside will be illegal. That’s correct. Johnson City leaders have passed an ordinance that is intended to transition their city into a “Chain Free” zone for man’s best friend. Beginning next month, in January 2020, dogs can continue to be tethered outside unattended for no more than twelve hours. While it’s not yet being discussed in Lee County, how nice to know man’s best friend is finally being treated like a beloved member of the family.
