Carter Sentenced To 23 Years For Wife’s Murder

Timothy Raymond Carter was sentenced to 20 years in prison on last week for the second degree murder of his wife Amy Carter in 2011. Carter also received three consecutive years for the felony use of a firearm in the commission of murder.

Jurors deliberated for seven hours over the course of two days before recommending the 23 year sentence. No time was suspended and no probation was given. Special Prosecutor John Qualls said the whole incident was a terrible tragedy for everyone involved. He added that he would like to thank detectives Bobby Ellis and Taylor Scott for their outstanding investigative work as well as their jury.
