Brendon Austin Caige Hill Sentenced

Brendon Austin Caige Hill, age 19 of Appalachia, was sentenced to more than two years in prison for a car chase that took place last year. Hill was convicted and sentenced in Wise County Circuit Court on charges of Grand Larceny of an Automobile, Felony Eluding, Driving Under the Influence of Methamphetamine, Obstruction of Justice, Hit and Run, and Illegal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
A Wise County Sheriff’s Office Deputy followed Hill’s vehicle last May because it matched the description of a reported stolen vehicle. According to police reports, Hill pulled into a church parking lot and then drove off as the deputy approached. Hill then proceeded to speed through Wise, passing vehicles and even driving into oncoming traffic.
The deputy forced Hill’s vehicle off the road before it could strike a school bus head on. According to the police report, after his arrest, Hill admitted  to law enforcement that he had smoked meth before driving. In total, Hill received fourteen years, with eleven years and eleven months suspended and then ten years probation.
