Blackwater man facing meth charges

 A Blackwater man is facing several drug-related charges after authorities say a meth lab was discovered at his home.

The Scott County Sheriff's Office and Southwest Virginia Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in the Blackwater area on March 21. According to information provided by the SCSO, officers found an active meth lab along with all the precursors used to manufacture meth. Police also discovered a 33-plant marijuana indoor grow site and a quarter-pound of marijuana packaged for resale.

Randy Clarence Bowen, 45, of Blackwater, was arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of precursors to manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Bowen is being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield.
