Police say a Wise County man allegedly threatened to kill his mother and held her at gunpoint until she was able to escape into a convenience store in Duffield.
Tony Lynn McClellan, 31, Big Stone Gap, has been charged with one count of brandishing a firearm, one count of abduction by force and one count of using a firearm in commission of a felony.
According to a police report, on Aug. 11, McClellan held his mother at gunpoint inside a vehicle and allegedly threatened to kill her. The victim told police that McClellan had a small handgun and kept removing and inserting the clip.
She was able to escape after arriving at a convenience store in Duffield where she ran inside the business and told the clerk to call the police. The clerk hid the victim until deputies arrived.
