Big Stone Gap Virginia Town Council Schedules Special Called Meeting & Public Hearing

The Big Stone Gap Virginia Town Council has scheduled a Public Hearing as well as, a Special Called Meeting regarding a logging company that intends to setup operations at Big Cherry. Logging company Columbia Forest Products proposes using the area as a means of extraction rather than clear cutting. The combined meeting is scheduled for November 27th at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers.
Currently this 250-acre lake in Big Stone Gap allows canoes/kayaks and electric motor boats. Fishing and seasonal hunting is also permitted. Visit the Big Stone Gap website for more information on reservoir access and fees. Of course gasoline motors, swimming, and littering are prohibited
