Big Stone Gap man arrested for second time for stalking

A man arrested and charged earlier this month on stalking charges, was arrested Tuesday evening on stalking and sexual assault charges.

Kingsport Police Department say a woman was shopping at Dollar Tree on Stone Drive in Kingsport, when she noticed a man had been standing behind her for a few moments.

The woman reportedly stepped forward to allow for him to pass in the aisle and he stepped right up behind her.

When she turned around, she saw he had a cell phone held down next to her buttocks and was recording her.

According to the release, when the woman tried to walk away, the man grabbed her buttocks and made an inappropriate comment.

The woman told police she turned and hit him on the mouth with some merchandise and the man then ran from the store toward a nearby business.

Kingsport detectives identified the man as David Eric Lambert, 36, of Big Stone Gap, Va., who had recently been arrested for six counts of stalking.

Detectives obtained a warrant charging Lambert with stalking and sexual assault, and he was arrested Tuesday evening in Virginia.

Lambert was taken to the Southwest Regional Jail in Duffield, Va., where he currently awaits extradition back to Kingsport.
