Ballad Health Facing Public Angst

At the last meeting with Ballad Health, local residents were given the opportunity to voice their concerns regarding Ballad Health and their state issued Certificate of Public Advantage. During the sometimes heated discussion period one speaker even called for the local advisory board member, Dennis Phillips to resign from the position due to Conflict of Interest, with Phillips hotly denying the allegation. The main focus of the meeting with Ballad Health was to focus on their efforts of downgrading the Holston Valley Medical Center’s Trauma Center, and the removal of the NICU.
