The 18th Annual Papa Joe Smiddy music festival will be held Sunday, September 5th at Natural Tunnel State Park. This event is presented by the Cove Ridge Center this is a fun festival that celebrates the legacy of Papa Joe Smiddy. Tennessee Border will open the show starting at 5pm followed by Appalachian Trail Bluegrass Band. Appalachian Trail Bluegrass has played festivals all over the country and feature members from our area. For the first time ever, admission is free and there will be food and craft vendors available for your needs. Park staff will also do a craft or program for children of all ages. There is plenty of fixed seating available or you can bring your own chair or blanket to sit in the grassy lawn. Lee Theatre presents the movie – Soul at 7p.m. Soul is a 2020 computer-animated film staring the voices of Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, and more big stars. The story follows a middle school music teacher named Joe Gardner, who seeks to reunite his soul and his body after they are accidentally separated, just before his big break as a jazz musician. Doors open at 6 and tickets will be available at the ticket booth for Soul at Lee Theatre.
