Appalachian Power

Appalachian Power filed a request with the State Corporation Commission to approve six new programs to allow customers to keep their bills low and reducing energy usage and demand.

Four of these programs will help homeowners and the other two will be for commercial and industrial customers.

The residential programs will provide home assessments and incentives for reducing energy, provide cash incentives for removing appliances, give incentives for efficiency building and offer retail rebates for lighting and appliances.

Appalachian Power expects the programs to save more than six million dollars for its 500-thousand customers in Virginia.
