Appalachian Community Action and Development Agency Can Drive for Coal Miners

The Appalachian Community Action and Development Agency is continuously accepting donations for the Lee County Personal Care and Hygiene Program that benefits low income and our elderly citizens in Lee County. Appalachian community action and development would like to encourage local organizations, businesses, churches, school groups and individuals to participate and help out those in our community.
Right now there is a very high demand for assistance as they are currently holding a can drive for area coal miner families. All canned goods are appreciated. Additionally cleaning products and pet products such as food or treats may also be donated.
Donations can be dropped off at the Appalachian Community Action and Development office in Jonesville located at 119 Hill Street. You will also find convenient drop off barrels at both Grabeel’s IGA grocery stores located in Pennington Gap and in Jonesville, and at the Woodforest Bank located inside of Walmart on the four lane.
Their annual Coats for Children Campaign is already underway at their Hill Street location. You may also donate gloves, hats and mittens to keep our children warm this coming winter.  Don’t forget that they gladly accept monetary donations to help those in need in our community with rent and utility bills. For more information please call their office at 276-346-0054
