Amanda Danielle Bryant of Lee County Arrested on Multiple Charges

A traffic stop Sunday evening ended with the arrest of a Lee County woman along with the seizure of drugs and a weapon. According to Lee County Sheriff Gary Parson, Deputy Jeff Smith stopped a vehicle in the Shavers Ford area of Lee County for having a defective tail light. Inside the vehicle were two males and a female.
According to Parsons the occupants were acting suspiciously which resulted in a request to search the vehicle, which was granted. Parsons said that when the female got out of the back seat it was discovered she had been sitting on a loaded .38 caliber revolver. A further search of the woman's bag resulted in the discovery of 33 grams of methamphetamine, 15 grams of marijuana, along with numerous pills, scales and baggies.
Parsons said that 29 year old Amanda Danielle Bryant of Old Mill Apartments in Pennington Gap, Virginia was charged with
Possession of a Schedule 1 Narcotic with Intent to Distribute,
Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
2 counts of Possession of a Schedule 4 Narcotic with Intent to Distribute,
Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of Illegal Narcotics, Possession of a concealed weapon,
and Public Intoxication.
Bryant is being held in the Duffield Regional Jail without bond. Sheriff Parsons said that Deputy Smith was assisted by Deputy Mason Cook and commended both of them for a job well done.
